Four people were killed in a multicar crash Tuesday afternoon near Westminster, east of Van Alstyne.
Zoe Wilson, 16, of Van Alstyne, was taken to Medical City McKinney. Abigail Kendall, 15, of Anna; Brianna Gesino, 15, of Anna; Julie Trimble, 51, of Ivanhoe; and Wayne Trimble, 51, of Ivanhoe died at the scene. Nine other people were injured.
According to DPS, the accident happened just after 4 p.m. on State Highway 121 near County Road 528. A Pontiac Grand Prix was going north on State Highway 121 when it slowed down and was struck from behind by a red Dodge Ram pickup.
The Pontiac was spun into the southbound lane where it was hit by a southbound Ford Focus. A Subaru going south was hit by the Pontiac and went into the ditch where it rolled onto its side.
After hitting the Pontiac, the Ford Focus spun into the northbound land where it was struck by a Ford F450 utility truck.
Wilson was the driver of the Pontiac. Kendall, Gesino and Madison Kenney, 16, of Anna, were all passengers. Kenney was taken to Medical City McKinney with serious injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup was Anne Spann, 45, of Bailey. She was taken to Medical City McKinney with non-life-threatening injuries. Passengers Christopher B. Spann, 42, of Bailey, and Christopher A. Spann, 14, of Bailey, were also taken to Medical City McKinney with non-life-threatening injuries.
Heather Trimble, 24, of Ivanhoe was the driver of the Ford Focus. She was taken to Medical City Plano with serious injuries. Her passengers were Wayne Trimble and Julie Trimble and a 4-year-old female of Ivanhoe, who authorities have not identified, but a GoFundMe page for Heather Trimble identifies the child as Heather’s daughter Matilda. The 4-year-old was taken to Medical City Plano with serious injuries.
