Dallas has been named as the second most dangerous city to drive in behind Houston, so how do you stay out of dangerous Dallas driving areas? In order to stay out of harms way, you need to be aware of what to look out for. Lucé Law, PC has put together this handy guide to help keep you safe on the Dallas roads.
Don’t Drive Late at Night
The majority of fatal accidents are typically due to impaired drivers and DWIs. Most DWI accidents occur very late at night, or early the next morning. If possible, try to stay off the roads between 12am and 4am. That is when the risk peaks for drunk drivers. If you have had anything to drink, make plans to have a sober driver, take a cab, or use a ride share program such as Uber or Lyft.
Be Aware at Dangerous Intersections
Some of the most dangerous Dallas driving areas include intersections in and around the city. Of course, any intersection can be dangerous if you are not paying close attention, but these in particular are a known danger-spot for drivers. They include:
- TX-121 & Preston Road
- Coit Road and the President George Bush Turnpike service road
- Coit Road and I-635
- Legacy Drive and the Dallas North Tollway service road
- Belt Line Road and Preston Road
- Belt Line Road and Midway Road
- Park Blvd. and Preston Road
- Hebron Parkway and Old Denton Road
