On Monday, a car hit a semi-truck from behind and subsequently caught fire. For a few days, details were not released. Authorities have recently shed light on what happened in this fatal accident. At approximately two p.m., Harlea Barrentine was driving along I-35 near Rector Road. Due to construction, there was a temporary shut down of a lane, and therefore, construction crews placed signs to merge traffic into one lane. People on the scene said that the car that Harlea Barrentine was driving was traveling fast and driving erratically. When the road merged, she hit the semi truck going approximately 50 miles per hour. No other details have been released at this time.
